get to know Lynn Sanders

Lynn Sanders believes that the primary function of art is simply to be admired, and what makes art interesting is intrigue and a curiosity about the artist’s process—there should be mystery within each piece.

Intuitive in nature, Lynn’s painting process is chaotic. Its speed and intensity are often reflective of her current emotions. Using a custom tool that she created to apply paint and various mediums to the canvas, Lynn’s work is made quickly and impulsively with layers of acrylic paints, stains, inks & glazes. The custom tool allows her to paint at a pace that reflects her impatient nature, while achieving just the right amount of transparency and depth. Her long relationship with this application technique has developed an innate understanding of the precise amount of pressure and paint needed to achieve her signature aesthetic.

With a focus on process over concept, Lynn’s pieces invite the viewer to ponder the technique. Her satisfaction comes from knowing that her pieces speak her own unique visual language.
